Getting your small or fiscally sponsored organization started with the New York State Cultural Data Project

The New York State Cultural Data Project (New York State CDP) is a powerful management tool for arts and cultural organizations of all types and sizes. In fact, more than 50% of CDP users have budgets of less than $250,000. This Demonstration and Discussion will provide an overview of the New York State CDP, with a focus on unaudited organizations and organizations using fiscal sponsors. This session will provide you with an introduction to the New York State CDP that will prepare you to enter your organization’s data efficiently and effectively. Whether you are an unaudited 501(c)(3) organization, a small collective that is fiscally sponsored, or a program within a larger non-arts institution, this session will show you how to generate, with the click of a button, the reports to be submitted to grantmakers as well as the powerful trend reports from the New York State CDP.

You can participate in this WEB-BASED New York State CDP Demonstration and Discussion from your home or office computer.

Once registered and one day prior to the training session, you will be sent a link to connect to this training session online. During the online session, the New York State CDP associate will conduct the demonstration and discussion, during which you will be able to ask questions and learn more about the New York State CDP.

This important session will show you and your staff how to enter data into the New York State CDP and use its powerful reporting features.

New York State Cultural Data Project

The New York State Cultural Data Project is a powerful, online management tool designed to strengthen arts and cultural organizations. This unique system allows users to track their own financial and programmatic performance over time and to benchmark themselves against comparable organizations in specific disciplines, geographic regions and budget sizes. Through the New York State CDP Help Desk, organizations have immediate access to free on-call technical assistance and a team of non-profit financial consultants. The New York State CDP is available to large and small organizations, including those with 501(c)3 status, cultural programs within non-arts organizations, organizations using fiscal conduits, and even unincorporated collectives and festivals at no cost. Four private foundations came together to provide the funding for the launch and three years of operations for the New York State Cultural Data Project.

By participating in the New York State CDP, you will be part of a successful and growing project that will allow the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence for the sector's assets and needs, as well as its contributions to the state and the country.
